Experience true
Tanzania

Tanzania has much more to offer than towering mountains. Our country is home to unique nature and wildlife (including the Big Five: lions, leopards, rhinoceroses, elephants, and African buffalo), as well as over 125 ethnic groups. At Afrikabisa, we offer a wide range of nature tours and cultural excursions. These authentic adventures can be the main attraction of your trip or added to your climbing tour package.

African Safaris

Take your safari to the next level with a hot-air balloon tour. This adventure gives you an uninterrupted birds-eye view of the Serengeti plains, Tarangire National Parks, and the private Grumeti Singita Reserve. Arrive at your launch site before dawn to witness the magnificent sun rising over the hills. After your 40- to 60-minute ride, you will share a traditional Champagne toast with your crew, followed by a cooked breakfast enjoyed in the Serengeti.

This once-in-lifetime excursion costs $599 USD per person when purchased with a safari. Advanced reservations are required at the time of booking your safari.

Zanzibar is world-famous for its brilliant white sand beaches – but exploring the turquoise blue Indian Ocean is a special kind of exhilarating. Afrikabisa’s blue safari is a full-day tour of Menai Bay, the largest marine protected area in Zanzibar. Our captain will take you to the best swimming and snorkeling areas to discover the brilliant variety of tropical fish below the surface. While onboard a traditional sailing vessel known as a dhow, you can relax in the ocean breeze, enjoy a seafood tasting, and watch out for bottlenose dolphins and humpback whales that are known to frequent the area.

Local adventures

Let Afrikabisa show you one of the hidden gems of Tanzania. Nestled in the jungle, Kikuletwa Hot Springs is a beautiful oasis with crystal-clear and geologically heated water. This is the perfect relaxation excursion after climbing Kilimanjaro or returning from a safari.

Kikuletwa (Chemka) Hot Springs

This tour offers two unique Tanzania experiences in one day. We start with a walk to Materuni Waterfall, where you’ll see how local fruits (such as avocados, mangos, lemons, and bananas) grow, learn about local history, traditions, agricultural, and cultural life, and swim in the natural pool of the waterfall. The tour continues with a visit to the coffee plantation for a demonstration of coffee farming and processing. You can sing and dance alongside the Chaga people as they grind, roast, and boil the beans. When the coffee is ready, villagers will serve lunch – a national Chagga meal.

The word “Marangu” means a place with too many water streams. This tour combines a short waterfall hike with a coffee tour or exploration of the local Chagga cave system. After viewing and swimming in the refreshing water of the Ndoro Waterfall, lunch will be provided in the beautiful valley with stunning green landscapes.

Marangu Waterfall Tour

Fed entirely by underground springs from Mt. Kilimanjaro, Lake Chala is a crater lake with turquoise-blue and green water, surrounded by diverse plants, trees, and wildlife. On this tour, you can relax in the tranquility or go exploring through kayaking or walking safari. To extend your stay, feel free to book dining or luxury tent camping through the Lake Chala Safari Lodge.

Lake Chala Tour

A trip to the exotic spice islands wouldn’t be complete without experiencing one of Zanzibar’s spice plantations. This three-hour walking tour takes you through multiple growing areas (depending on the season) to see different spices and learn their nature, history, and uses. You may taste certain spices right on the spot, and have the chance to purchase spices, soaps, and creams made by hand by the local community. You can also enjoy a traditional weaving class on this tour.

Cultural Experiences

The Maasai is a semi-nomadic, pastoral ethnic group that originated in the Nile valley of Egypt, then settled in Kenya and northern Tanzania. For thousands of years, they have maintained traditional customs, living off the land and taking only what they need. They are aware of the world but not in it. The Massai are also magnificent and kind people. Through a tour with Afrikabisa, you will be welcomed into their villages to learn about traditional Massia food, world-renown beading techniques, and their general way of life.

Afrikabisa was incredibly welcoming and offered such a genuine and exciting experience. I think what really sets them a part is their willingness to listen, curate and improve their tours every single time which again, shows their authenticity and that they truly care. It also allows them to closely tend to their customer's well-being and experience.

Afrikabisa was a phenomenal company to guide my trek up Mt. Kilimanjaro. I left that mountain feeling like I gained a family. The guides and porters anticipated our every move and provided care that was at a level higher than I could have ever expected. They taught us about the mountain and made every step of the trip better.

Incredible in an understatement
